Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team at Association in Washington DC. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of $60,000 - $65,000 per annum, plus benefits.

About the Role

This role will be responsible for processing and reconciling all incoming cash receipts in various forms, including ACHs, wires, checks, and credit cards on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have experience with Protech or similar association management systems and strong Excel skills.

The successful candidate will work closely with the outsourced accounting team under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer. Key responsibilities will include generating cash receipt and revenue journal entries in the Sage Accounting System based on transactions from the Protech platform, as well as maintaining spreadsheets on cash receipts and receivables.

Apart from this, the role will involve planning, managing, and evaluating financial activities related to cash receipts and receivables to ensure that processes are working effectively and internal controls are in place. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to serve as the main point of contact for cash receipts and receivables within the organization.

The successful candidate will also be expected to assist with preparing financial reports in the accounting department, ensuring timely and accurate submission. Additionally, they will be responsible for assisting with financial reporting and billing within the organization, as well as working on special tasks or projects as directed by the Chief Operating Officer.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably with Protech or similar association management systems.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with Sage Intacct.
  • Familiarity with cash receipts and receivables processing.
