About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Highway Design Project Engineer to join our team in Austin, Texas. As a key member of our transportation design team, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing civil engineering projects, including highways, bridges, surface drainage, and utilities infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers in providing engineering design support for roadway, hydraulics, hydrology, and civil engineering design projects.
  • Perform professional engineering work involving the application of standard techniques, procedures, and design criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks.
  • Prepare and produce reports, plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Participate in client meetings, design/study development, and site/field visits during design and construction.
  • Work independently or as part of a design team, and communicate effectively with project team members, government agencies, and clients.
Requirements
  • BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of design experience on transportation projects, Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, and experience designing highway/roadway systems.
