Senior Highway Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Highway Engineering Leader to join our team at Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP. As a key member of our highway design group, you will play a vital role in expanding our presence in Texas, hiring and mentoring staff, and guiding the overall direction of our growth and expansion in the region.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of highway design projects in Texas, working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop in their careers.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and expansion in Texas and beyond, working closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities and develop plans to capitalize on them.
- Ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables, supervising the execution of work and ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standards.
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the designing of transportation projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, with a Master's Degree or other advanced degree desirable.
- P.E., registered in the state of Texas.
- Strong knowledge of TXDOT Policies and Procedures preferred.
- Track record of developing and growing engineering groups and establishing internal and external relationships.
- Ability to manage and mentor staff of all levels and direct resources effectively in a positive manner.
- Excellent communication and business development skills, including developing client relations, strategic partnering, preparing proposals, and preparing/delivering presentations.
- Experience with all aspects of engineering project management, including preparing scopes of work, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Able to travel to project sites, company offices, and client meetings.
