Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Jones Lang LaSalle IP, Inc. in Baltimore, MD. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to identify potential issues and ensure systems are functioning properly.
  • Diagnose and repair problems with building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, to prevent breakdowns and extend system lifespan.
  • Work with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs and replacements.
  • Document all work performed, including maintenance and repairs, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with other facilities team members to ensure seamless operation of building systems.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in building maintenance and repair, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, and to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with ability to work effectively with vendors, contractors, and other team members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Trade license or certification in a related field, such as HVAC or plumbing.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other software applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
