Emergency Medical Technician

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medical Technician to join our team at Sun Health. As a Medical Response Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to our residents and ensuring their health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate care and treatment.
- Evaluate and treat medical conditions, including fire conditions, and call for assistance when necessary.
- Identify residents who require further assistance and participate in follow-up meetings to provide recommendations.
- Conduct assurance checks on residents who have not responded to assurance buttons.
- Advise residents on medical and health issues and assist with scheduling physician appointments.
- Take vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration readings, as requested.
- Visit individual resident condominiums as needed and maintain accurate and complete triage logs and incident reports.
- Perform resident welfare checks as deemed necessary by the Director of Resident Services.
- Monitor oxygen supplies and notify the Director of Resident Services when levels are low.
- Restock medical supplies, including trauma and airway bags, as needed.
- Update resident medical profiles and replace them in the profile book when indicated.
- Communicate with hospitals and nurses regarding resident conditions and report changes to the Director of Resident Services.
- Greet residents and visitors in a friendly and professional manner and maintain a clean personal appearance.
- Participate in emergency drills and know facility emergency procedures.
- Assist with the Customer Service desk as needed, including checking people in and out, accepting and dispensing packages, and operating the telephone system.
- Report any irregularities or needed repairs observed during daily activities.
- Exercise cost control and treat company assets responsibly.
- Work agreed-upon schedules with minimal absences and perform routine tasks without close supervision.
- Contribute to teamwork by demonstrating a 'Will-Do' attitude and working cooperatively with others.
- Must be certified by the State of Arizona as an Emergency Medical Technician.
- Must have valid CPR certification.
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good knowledge of medical terms.
- Must be able to physically climb stairs, perform CPR, lift up to 150 pounds, and apply first aid.
