Key Responsibilities of the Executive Producer include:

  • Directing daily broadcasts to deliver pertinent information to local audiences
  • Overseeing producers and journalists, evaluating scripts, and providing constructive feedback for compelling storytelling
  • Managing the newsroom environment and effectively addressing breaking news situations
  • Partnering with News Directors and station executives to create special features
  • Coordinating and ensuring seamless transitions between broadcasts

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following skills:

  • Proven ability to develop engaging narratives across multiple platforms
  • Capability to perform under pressure, manage breaking news, and adhere to deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a dedication to journalistic integrity and ethics
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an emphasis on coaching and team motivation
  • In-depth knowledge of driving digital engagement and a minimum of 1 year of experience in television news production
  • A degree in Journalism or a related discipline is preferred
  • Outstanding writing skills and a track record of achieving favorable results
