Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Surgical Critical Care Specialist to join our team at Hartford Healthcare (HHC). This is a full-time opportunity for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in our Surgical Critical Care unit.

About the Role

This position involves providing high-quality patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for rounding, performing procedures, and developing plans for further evaluation of patients' health needs. Our ideal candidate will have experience in critical care and/or surgical trauma and possess excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical plans to treat patients.
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of patients' health needs, including referrals to other healthcare team members or specialists.
  • Provide appropriate treatment for problems within your scope of practice, identifying issues outside your scope and referring them to physicians when necessary.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant training
  • New graduates welcome to apply with comprehensive onboarding provided

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two years of post-graduate experience as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Critical care and/or surgical trauma experience

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes market-leading compensation, generous paid time off, paid CME time, tuition assistance, and more.
