Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Oversee the daily operations of the specialty court program, including managing program staff, coordinating court services, and ensuring compliance with court policies and procedures.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and support program staff, including case managers, probation officers, and other court personnel, to ensure the effective delivery of court services.
  • Grant Management: Identify and write grants to secure funding for the specialty court program, and assist with the preparation and submission of grant proposals.
  • Reporting and Data Management: Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of program data to the court and grantors, and compile statistical reports to inform program decision-making.
  • Client Services: Coordinate the intake and referral process for clients, and ensure that clients receive the necessary support and services to achieve program goals.
  • Treatment Coordination: Facilitate the coordination of treatment services for clients, including participating in case conferences with treatment providers and evaluating treatment services.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with court staff, stakeholders, and community partners to ensure the effective delivery of court services.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as psychology, social work, or public administration.
  • Experience: Two years of experience in case management, substance abuse treatment services, or mental health services, with one year of experience in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and populations.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of grant writing, budget management, and program evaluation, with the ability to apply this knowledge to inform program decision-making.
Working Environment

The Specialty Court Coordinator will work in a typical customer service office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise. Some assignments may require working in a field environment or detention facility.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to Remain in a Stationary Position: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time to perform job functions.
  • Ability to Detect, Create, and Interpret Documents: Must be able to detect, create, and interpret documents, including reports and statistical data.
  • Ability to Operate Office Machinery: Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery, including printers and scanners.
Licenses, Certifications, or Special Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid Michigan driver's license and access to a vehicle to use in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Criminal and IV-D Background Investigation: Candidates will be subject to a criminal and/or IV-D background investigation and subsequent fingerprinting every five years.
