Job Summary

Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Docketing Specialist to support our team in various offices across the country. As a key member of our litigation team, you will be responsible for scheduling and maintaining electronic calendars for all litigation events, due dates, and obligations for attorneys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Extract and interpret various documents to identify upcoming events and requirements for docketing.
  • Create new events and update existing events in CompuLaw from notifications and requests for docketing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain the accuracy of data pertaining to matters managed within the CompuLaw software, recognizing the critical importance of this data to our litigation practice.
  • Interact with court personnel, attorneys, and staff in a professional manner to obtain and provide data, answer questions, and resolve problems.
  • Prepare, process, and generate routine and special reports for distribution as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on developments and changes in court procedures for various jurisdictions.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of prior docket experience with a rule-based calendaring system (CompuLaw, CourtAlert, and/or eDockets).
  • Experience with federal, state court, and agency rules.
  • Knowledge of the legal process and court operations, including federal, state, and local court administrative rules.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex documents, including pleadings and other documents related to various litigation practice areas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and provide information with courtesy and tact in person, over the telephone, and in writing.
  • Ability to reason and apply common sense to resolve problems and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to perform mathematical functions, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing, to calculate dates.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs is required.
  • Ability to work under high mental effort and occasionally work more than 40 hours per week.
