Industrial Equipment Maintenance Specialist

SMS group Inc., a leading global player in the metals industry, is seeking an experienced Industrial Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join their team at their Valparaiso, IN facility.
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of approximately $65,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Disassemble, assemble, and test equipment as instructed by the Workshop Manager.
- Develop and implement fabrication techniques for lightweight apparatus and structures used in equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with project management, engineers, and technical personnel to complete projects effectively.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a job shop environment with primary responsibility for refurbishment, reconditioning, and spare parts.
- Detailed knowledge of disassembly, assembly, machining, and fabrication methods, including MIG, SMAW, and TIG welding practices.
- Familiarity with overhead crane, lift truck, and maintenance procedures, including hoisting and rigging techniques.
- In-depth understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems.
- Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read prints and drawings accurately.
- Capacity to follow step-by-step procedures with precision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
