**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Inventory Control Specialist to join our team at Penn Medicine. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and efficient inventory levels, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the overall mission of our pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including receipts, issues, and transfers
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of medications, including monitoring expiration dates and completing daily checks for expired medications
  • Collaborate with purchasing staff to prepare orders, ensure accurate billing, and receive and enter products into automated inventory systems
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Develop and implement procedures for ensuring adequate inventory levels and minimizing stockouts or overstocking
  • Proactively communicate with stakeholders, including hospital staff, to ensure smooth operations and address any concerns or issues

Requirements:

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required prior to employment or within six months of hire
  • At least 3 years' experience in pharmacy services, preferably in inventory management or warehouse management
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with ability to lift and carry heavy objects as needed
