Position Overview:
We are in search of a proactive and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee our financial operations and influence our strategic financial decisions. This is a permanent role within our rapidly expanding construction firm. The CFO will be integral to the company's overall growth, strategic planning, and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will manage financial planning, risk assessment, record-keeping, and financial reporting at the highest organizational levels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Formulate and execute financial strategies and systems that align with the company’s goals.
2. Supervise and direct the financial operations, including budget development, financial statement preparation, and reporting to executive management and the board.
3. Leverage forecasting to predict financial trends and future business requirements, preparing the company for growth and investment opportunities.
4. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local financial regulations by reviewing existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance, and advising management on necessary actions.
5. Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including assessing budgetary performance.
6. Cultivate and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and accounting professionals to facilitate financial activities.
7. Establish and uphold internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial records and reports.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
2. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
3. Over 10 years of experience in a senior financial management role, ideally within the construction sector.
4. Proven track record in financial forecasting, corporate finance, and data analysis.
5. Proficient in MS Office and financial management software.
6. Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
7. Comprehensive understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
8. Familiarity with all relevant statutory legislation and regulations.
9. Ability to lead and guide teams to ensure effective financial processes.
10. High-level financial reporting capabilities, including the ability to forecast trends and evaluate risks.
The ideal CFO will be a mature leader with extensive finance experience, ideally starting in audit, followed by roles in financial information analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. The CFO will have experience managing the finance function across diverse entities.
