Role Highlights:
Join the Maternal Fetal Medicine department at our outpatient facility. Enjoy major holidays off, with no on-call duties or weekend shifts.

As a key player, you will independently operate diagnostic medical equipment to assess complex medical conditions. Your responsibilities will include performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations, which encompass intricate obstetric and gynecological scanning (such as fetal echocardiography, fetal anomaly assessments, and high-risk obstetrics) as well as complex vascular diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist radiologists in executing invasive diagnostic procedures, including needle biopsies and guided placements, while providing training to residents.
2. Assess any contraindications, including medications and patient readiness for procedures.
3. Conduct ultrasound procedures under appropriate supervision as required.
4. Identify sonographic characteristics of both normal and abnormal tissues and blood flow.
5. Analyze findings throughout the examination to ensure a comprehensive assessment is completed, providing sufficient data for the physician.
6. Recognize situations that necessitate real-time observation by the radiologist.
7. Capture images while simultaneously obtaining Doppler signals, ensuring accurate recordings for interpretation.
8. Communicate examination results to the radiologist and/or referring physician, offering preliminary diagnostic insights.

Qualifications

Educational Background:
● Completion of a twelve-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or an equivalent certification program is mandatory.
Licensure/Certification:
● Must hold RDMS registration from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with certification in at least one relevant modality (e.g., Abdomen, OBGYN, RVT).
● Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers is required.
Professional Experience:
● A minimum of three years of experience as an Ultrasound Technician is necessary.
● Completion of all departmental-specific Sonographer competencies within twelve months of hire, along with annual modality competencies and continuing education to maintain Ultrasound Tech II status.
