Job Summary

We are seeking an academic faculty member for the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). The successful candidate will play a key role in providing direct pediatric patient care, teaching and mentorship to medical students, residents, and fellows, and engaging in quality and safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical service as a Pediatric Hospitalist for the Department of Pediatrics of CHoR based at CHoR.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in pediatric hospital medicine.
  • Engage in quality and safety initiatives, including hospital or departmental committees and professional activities.
  • Take on administrative duties, including coordination of resources and collaboration with the Director of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
Requirements
  • Board certification in pediatrics or internal medicine-pediatrics.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Virginia.
  • Drug Enforcement Agency licensure.
  • Credentialing at VCUH.
  • Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of clinical experience in pediatric hospital medicine.
  • Completion of Pediatric Fellowship training.
  • Tracking toward Board Eligibility/Board Certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine by 2023.
