Position Overview

The Senior Portfolio Manager plays a pivotal role in managing client relationships and is tasked with the comprehensive evaluation, design, and oversight of portfolio construction, including the selection of investment managers.

  • Ensure the completion of the investment policy statement.
  • Serve as a technical and industry authority in managing intricate individual and family client relationships, catering to clients seeking a sophisticated investment strategy, which encompasses manager selection and various investment vehicles, including traditional, alternative, and derivative options.
  • Assist Portfolio Consulting teams in effectively conveying our organizational culture, investment philosophy, and the spectrum of investment and non-investment solutions pertinent to prospects and existing clients.
  • Formulate and propose strategies aimed at fulfilling clients' investment objectives.
  • Engage with clients to assess investment performance and predict market fluctuations based on economic and industry evaluations, ensuring that current asset allocations align with their goals.
  • Oversee all facets of portfolio management, including executing trades, maintaining investment action plans, monitoring overdrafts, conducting regulatory investment reviews, and documenting client interactions and account activities.
  • Contribute to the market's revenue growth by achieving personal investment management, credit, and deposit targets.
  • May involve the development and marketing of specialized asset allocation products and services.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and coaching to junior staff members.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in investment decision-making and financial consulting, particularly with high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.
  • Experience in progressively responsible roles within a reputable financial services firm, ideally in wealth management, private banking, or trust services.
  • Extensive knowledge of fiduciary and financial products and services acquired through relevant professional experience.
  • Comprehensive technical understanding of investments, taxation, legal considerations, and operational aspects necessary for client service.
  • Familiarity with fiduciary standards, principles, and applicable laws and regulations, typically gained through formal training or education.
  • Proficient in negotiation, delegation, leadership, and exceptional client service and relationship management skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent financial services/business experience is preferred, along with relevant credentials such as CPA, CFP, or CFA.
  • A graduate degree, such as an MBA or JD, is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a balanced mix of financial services expertise, management experience, and business development skills.
