Job Overview

The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is seeking an experienced Lead Immigration Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Immigration Team, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission of protecting clients' rights and delivering outstanding results.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $120,000 USD per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description

We're looking for a skilled and dedicated professional with at least 1-4 years of immigration law experience to manage a caseload, provide strategic solutions, and represent clients in removal proceedings. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and possess a strong understanding of family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, and USCIS applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake sessions with detained individuals, explain complex immigration concepts, and present strategic solutions.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage workload of cases, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective case strategies.
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Analyze and review immigration applications/packets, making necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Presentation to and work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine necessary strategy.
  • Develop strategy and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis for clients to determine any possible case benefits.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 1-4 years of immigration law experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • A strong understanding of immigration law, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with case management software preferred.
