Job Summary

This is a student assistant position in the Chemistry Department at Tyler Junior College. The successful candidate will provide support to the department by performing various tasks related to laboratory operations, student services, and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with laboratory setup and maintenance, including the preparation of chemicals and equipment.
  • Support student learning by grading papers, providing guidance, and answering questions.
  • Conduct inventory of chemicals and equipment, and assist with waste disposal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department.
Requirements
  • Must be a registered undergraduate student at Tyler Junior College.
  • Must have a working knowledge of chemistry fundamentals.
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to work a maximum of 18 hours per week.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a laboratory setting and will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.

Benefits

This is a student assistant position and is not eligible for benefits.
