Position Summary:

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Floor Technician. This position is essential in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment within our facilities. We are looking for Full-Time, Part-Time, and PRN (as needed) candidates to join our environmental services team.

Compensation: Pay Range: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

The Floor Technician will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring floors are maintained in an attractive and sanitary condition through regular cleaning tasks such as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, stripping, refinishing, and burnishing.
  • Adhering to established cleaning schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Performing cleaning duties in various areas including lobbies, dining rooms, waiting areas, and other designated spaces.
  • Monitoring and managing inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Reporting any maintenance needs for floor equipment to the supervisor.
  • Cleaning spills and biohazard materials as directed.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and work areas as assigned.
  • Participating in activities that promote a clean and safe environment.
  • Staying informed about relevant federal, state, and facility regulations and policies.
  • Attending required training and educational programs.
  • Following safety protocols while performing all tasks.
  • Understanding and adhering to emergency procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
  • Completing additional duties as assigned by the Housekeeping/EVS department.

Work Environment:
This role involves physical activity, including lifting up to 40 pounds, and requires frequent movement throughout the facility. The technician will encounter various environmental conditions, including exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential infectious materials.

Physical Requirements:

The position demands continuous standing and walking, along with the ability to reach, bend, lift, and carry cleaning supplies and equipment.

Education and Experience:
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare cleaning role is advantageous.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, residents, and families.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination for operating cleaning equipment.
  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks with interruptions.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to flexible working hours.
  • Patience and understanding towards residents and staff.
