About the Role:
CommonSpirit Health is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at the Franciscan Urgent Care Clinic in University Place, WA. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients under the direction of a physician or mid-level provider.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for their visit by obtaining and recording their vital signs and other necessary information.
- Assist with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures, such as venous and capillary invasive procedures for blood draws, intradermal (including skin tests), subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the provider.
- Manage patient flow, ensuring enough time for patient and family education.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment and patient care areas clean and orderly.
- Schedule patient appointments and perform other administrative duties as needed.
- Participate in continuing education, required meetings, and committees as requested.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) and completion of a Medical Assistant certification program at an accredited institution or validation of equivalent military training.
- One year of work experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Washington State Certification as a Medical Assistant-Certified.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
