About the Role

PacifiCorp is seeking a seasoned finance professional to lead the company's coal and energy finance operations. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial activities of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving business growth through strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate Coal Supply and Transportation Agreements: Develop and implement strategies to secure coal supply and transportation agreements that meet PacifiCorp's generation fleet needs.
  • Manage Coal Contract Administration and Transportation: Oversee the administration of coal contracts, including logistics and transportation management, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Support Regulatory Activities: Collaborate with the regulatory team to respond to data requests, prepare testimony for regulatory filings, and provide financial support for regulatory processes.
  • Develop and Implement Financial Strategies: Design and implement financial strategies to leverage existing coal assets, optimize fuel costs, and drive business growth.
  • Lead the Functional Team: Direct and manage the day-to-day activities of the finance team, providing guidance, recommendations, and performance evaluations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of seven years of directly related experience, with a minimum of three years of supervisory or functional management experience.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, management skills, leadership and teamwork skills, and a solid understanding of internal controls and financial reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Controller or Accounting Experience: Experience in a controller or accounting role, preferably in an operating mine or utility company.
  • Advanced Degree or CPA Designation: An advanced degree or CPA designation is highly desirable.
  • SAP Financial Systems Experience: Experience with SAP Financial Systems modules is a plus.
