Role Overview: The Culinary Services Specialist is responsible for the preparation of diverse menus while ensuring exceptional hospitality for all patrons. The primary objective of this role is to create and deliver nutritious and flavorful meals, embodying the mission of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established menus.
  2. Supervise and assist volunteers and guests in large-scale food preparation.
  3. Maintain high standards of food quality and quantity during service.
  4. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and work areas.
  5. Adhere to food safety standards and organizational policies consistently.
  6. Organize and manage food storage and labeling effectively.
  7. Prepare To-Go meals for designated pickups.
  8. Assist with catering preparations and event setups.
  9. Provide training and support to volunteers and guests as needed.
  10. Complete daily operational checklists and reports.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Experience: 1-2 years in food service is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food storage methods and safety practices.
  • Ability to plan and organize food preparation activities.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including spreadsheets and word processing.

Certifications:

ServSafe Certification is required.

Work Environment: This position may involve exposure to various environmental factors, including heat, noise, and mechanical hazards. Personal protective equipment may be necessary for certain tasks.

Physical Demands: The role requires frequent standing, walking, and handling of food items. Lifting requirements may vary based on tasks.
