Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and medical staff during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and equipment.
- Prepare operating rooms for procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of surgical procedures.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
- One year of operating room or military equivalent experience in a scrub role within the last two years or recent completion of an operating room training program.
- Surgical Technologist Certificate within six months of hire from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to scrub all types of surgical cases except open heart.
This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek, including weekend rotation and call requirements. The primary location is Kaiser Permanente's Zion Medical Center in San Diego, California.
