Job Overview

We are in search of an enthusiastic and articulate Newsletter Content Creator to join our team. At Spotlight PA, our core mission is to ensure accountability among influential public and private entities through impactful journalism that serves the community.

Position Summary: As part of the largest collaborative local journalism network in the United States, you will contribute to our flagship newsletters, ensuring that our investigative and public-service reporting reaches audiences across Pennsylvania.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compose the PA Post — our daily newsletter — on designated days of the week.
  • Contribute to The Investigator, our weekly newsletter focused on investigative journalism.
  • Develop original stories for PA Local, our lighter weekly newsletter.
  • Participate in creating content for our weekly news quiz.

This role operates on a schedule from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Candidate Profile: We seek individuals with a distinct and engaging writing style, exceptional time-management abilities, and a meticulous attention to detail. Your role will involve original reporting and writing that aligns with our mission of transparency and accountability in Pennsylvania.

Ideal candidates will possess a background in writing, reporting, or journalism, along with a desire to refine their voice and connect with local journalism readers. A commitment to accuracy and the art of clear, concise writing is essential. We value self-motivated individuals eager to explore innovative approaches within their work.

This is a full-time position with benefits, and while remote work is available, a preference for candidates based in Pennsylvania exists. The salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $72,000, contingent on experience.
