Description
Troon International is pleased to present an outstanding career opportunity for a full-time Catering Assistant. Ideal candidates will excel in a hospitality-focused environment and demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional service. The compensation range is $14.00-$16.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities of the Catering Assistant:
- Engage with clients through face-to-face interactions, phone calls, and emails to confirm, coordinate, and update details for upcoming catering events.
- Assess each group's catering requirements, which may encompass menu selection, meal timing, and venue arrangements.
- Conduct facility tours and site visits for assigned groups.
- Monitor all guarantees and deadlines in accordance with contracts.
- Collaborate with the Conventions and Catering department, as well as the Food and Beverage department, to ensure all arrangements are executed as intended.
- Participate in trade shows, wedding expos, and other events as required.
- Complete assigned projects related to the scope of responsibility.
- Assist the department manager with interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and supervising staff. Provide recommendations regarding hiring, performance evaluations, rewards, and disciplinary actions. Address customer complaints and resolve issues.
- Support the coordination of team members, which may include Banquet Captains, Servers, Hosts, and Set Up Staff.
- Help monitor business volume forecasts and plan accordingly in terms of staffing, productivity, costs, and other expenses.
- Be responsible for delivering outstanding service to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist the manager in communicating any updates or new policies and procedures to the team.
- Conduct facility tours and site visits for groups.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications for the Catering Coordinator:
Associate's degree (AA) and one to two years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Qualifications:
Proficient in software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and POS systems. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.
