Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at MultiCare Health System. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure comprehensive health care outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient customer service and assist with clinic management tasks
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and front office staff to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Perform a variety of functions within the clinic setting, requiring specialized knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data
  • Advocate for ethical and holistic care, promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse backgrounds
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting patient room searches, and reporting unsafe conditions
  • Provide and document interventions in various modalities, tailored to the needs of each patient
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field (preferred)
  • Eligibility to apply for a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor within 30 days and obtain within 90 days of placement (unless a higher credential is held)
  • Nursing Assistant Registered or CNA certification prior to start date
  • Current BLS certification
  • Peer MHT: Self-identify as a consumer who has received mental health services and demonstrate a strong understanding of mental health recovery
  • One year of direct patient care experience (preferred)
  • First Aid training required for assignments to Navos Hospital

Pay and Benefits

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. The pay scale for this position is $24.67 - $40.79 USD, influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
