About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at MultiCare Health System. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for psychiatric patients, while assisting with the provision of basic patient care and recovery needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent patient customer service and clinic management assistance
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, front office staff, and clinic management to ensure comprehensive healthcare outcomes
  • Perform a variety of functions within the clinic setting, requiring specialized knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data
  • Advocate for ethical and holistic care, promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting patient room searches, reporting unsafe conditions, and applying appropriate emotional and physical support
  • Provide and document interventions in a variety of modalities, individually matched to the needs of each patient
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or any other human services field preferred
  • Must be eligible and apply for a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor within 30 days and obtain within 90 days of placement in job, unless a higher credential is held
  • Must obtain a Nursing Assistant Registered or CNA prior to start date
  • Current BLS certification
  • Peer MHT: Self-identify as a consumer who has received mental health services and can demonstrate that they have been well grounded in their own mental health recovery for at least one year
  • One (1) year of direct patient care experience preferred
  • If assigned to Navos Hospital, First Aid training is required
