  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with APL staff to identify emerging challenges with quantum solutions and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
  • Support Ongoing Programs: Make immediate contributions to efforts that aim to implement quantum characterization, control, and error protection strategies in semiconducting spin qubit systems.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a Closely Related Field: Hold a doctoral degree in a relevant field and have a strong foundation in quantum mechanics and experimental techniques.
  • Post-Doctoral Experience: Possess at least 1 year of post-doctoral experience in experimental quantum systems, with a proven track record of research accomplishments and publications.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex research ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Security Clearance: Be able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by the start date and ultimately obtain a TS/SCI+poly level clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Significant Experimental Experience: Have significant, firsthand experimental experience with semiconducting spin qubit design, quantum dot tuning, RF control, and/or dilution refrigerator operation.
  • Modeling and Simulation Experience: Possess significant experience modeling multi-level, multi-qubit, and/or light-matter interactions.
  • Leadership and Collaboration Experience: Have a record of significant contributions on projects pursuing highly sophisticated objectives and experience collaborating closely with theorists.
