Generation Operations Supervisor

Key Responsibilities- Oversee the recruitment, coaching, training, and performance evaluation of team members.
- Engage regularly with direct reports and collaborate with peers to foster cooperation.
- Provide direct supervision to skilled professionals and support staff, acting as an advisor and becoming actively involved as necessary to meet project timelines and resolve issues.
- Contribute to budgeting and financial decisions impacting the department, seeking approvals for financial actions beyond established limits.
- Coordinate the integration of generation resources into the ERCOT System, from initial application through to commercial operation approval.
- Review and approve screening studies, interconnection study scopes, and compliance with protocols, ensuring all phases of interconnection are adequately supported.
- Facilitate communication of ERCOT requirements to market participants.
- Support working groups in developing planning databases and ensure regular updates of these datasets.
- Maintain databases for Resource Entity modeling to ensure consistency across departments.
- Develop and update models to reflect advancements in technology and business processes.
- Represent ERCOT in technical committees and national policy groups.
- Serve as an expert witness on matters related to generation interconnection.
- Enhance understanding of competitive energy markets and collaborate with management to advance ERCOT's mission.
- Assist in the development and management of departmental budgets and financial objectives.
- Contribute to the establishment of departmental goals and initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in power engineering, electric transmission, or a related field.
- Prior supervisory or project leadership experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Required).
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Preferred).
- A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge is acceptable.
- PE Professional Engineer certification is preferred.
