Key Responsibilities- Oversee the recruitment, coaching, training, and performance evaluation of team members.
- Engage regularly with direct reports and peers, requiring the ability to foster cooperation.
- Provide direct oversight to professional and skilled support staff, serving as an advisor and actively participating in problem resolution as necessary.
- Contribute to budgetary and financial decisions impacting the department, seeking approval for significant financial actions as per policy.
- Coordinate the integration of generation resources into the ERCOT System, from initial application through to commercial operation approval.
- Review and assess screening studies, interconnection study scopes, and compliance with protocols, while developing and approving modeling data for all interconnection phases.
- Communicate ERCOT requirements effectively to market participants.
- Support the development of planning databases and ensure regular updates of these datasets.
- Maintain and develop databases for Resource Entity modeling to ensure data consistency across departments.
- Lead initiatives to revise models reflecting new technologies or business processes.
- Represent ERCOT in technical committees and national policy groups.
- Serve as an expert witness on matters related to generation interconnection.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of competitive energy markets.
- Collaborate with upper management to strategize and execute ERCOT's mission and initiatives.
- Assist in the development and management of departmental budgets and financial objectives.
- Contribute to the establishment of departmental goals and initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in power engineering, electric transmission, or a related field.
- Prior supervisory or project leadership experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Required).
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Preferred).
- A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge is acceptable.
- PE Professional Engineer certification is preferred.
