Position Overview

Dwight-Englewood School, a prominent independent educational institution in Bergen County, NJ, is on the lookout for a part-time Music Instructor for the Middle School. We are in search of a passionate and innovative educator who is eager to motivate students to explore their musical talents and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their surroundings.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Embracing and promoting the school's mission in daily activities.
  • Delivering two sections of 6th-grade Music classes, meeting three times a week.
  • Conducting one section of Show Choir for 7th and 8th graders, meeting two to three times weekly.
  • Leading a Middle School Chorus that convenes twice a week.
  • Providing keyboard accompaniment as necessary.
  • Participating in departmental and divisional meetings as required.
  • Collaborating with music faculty across grade levels to ensure a cohesive curriculum.
  • Organizing and preparing multiple performances throughout the academic year to highlight student achievements.

Employment Terms

This is a part-time teaching role for a duration of 10 months. Instructors are expected to attend faculty meetings and participate in school-wide events.
