Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at BronxCare Health System. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees.
  • Contribute to and participate in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department.
  • Utilize the principles of leadership established by the AONE and ANA to provide excellent customer service.
  • Perform patient preparation procedures, including cleaning the room, identifying patients using two identifiers, and instructing patients to change into an exam gown.
  • Accurately perform and record vital signs, including blood pressure, and perform phlebotomy, including finger sticks.
  • Assist patients in the use of assisted devices, transport patients and specimens, and prepare and maintain work areas with supplies.
  • Report changes in patient conditions to the Registered Nurse and prepare patients for examination and assist providers during examination.
Requirements
  • Two to three years of experience in an acute, chronic, or ambulatory care setting.
  • Completed Patient Care Technician Course.
  • Certification of PCT (Phlebotomy/EKG) completion.
  • High School or GED.
  • Computer knowledge.
