We are on the lookout for a Lead Tax Strategist to guide our team into the future. This is a pivotal moment to influence the direction of our group and create valuable opportunities for our clients, our team members, and yourself.

In this position, you will collaborate with real estate professionals across all Elliott Davis locations, assisting clients in recognizing and achieving their strategic objectives through a proactive, innovative, and forward-thinking service model. We aim to provide our clients with assurance that their financial matters are well-managed, allowing them to focus on what they excel at—operating their businesses.

Responsibilities:
  • Building and maintaining exceptional client relationships with leading real estate firms in our region.
  • Conducting thorough technical reviews of tax returns of varying complexities.
  • Identifying and proposing innovative solutions to intricate client challenges.
  • Reviewing legal documents related to tax transactions, including operating agreements and purchase agreements.
  • Overseeing the economic performance of engagements, including billing and collections.
  • Recruiting, mentoring, and inspiring team members, fostering a pipeline of future leaders.
  • Collaborating across the firm to expand existing business and offer diverse solutions to clients and prospects.
  • Establishing and nurturing a professional network with colleagues, referral sources, potential clients, and external organizations to drive new business opportunities.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master's in Tax is preferred; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • At least 7 years of recent experience in a public accounting firm, managing multiple real estate tax projects and client engagements.
  • Experience in developing team members, delegating tasks, and managing workflow effectively.
  • Extensive experience within the real estate sector and handling various types of entity and individual taxes, particularly partnerships.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and networking abilities.
  • Proven capability to manage and cultivate robust client relationships.
  • Familiarity with tax software and technology.
