Advanced Practice Provider

As an Advanced Practice Provider at UNC Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to our diverse patient population. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care, from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and conducting preventive health screenings.
Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Care: Obtain thorough medical histories, perform physical assessments, and interpret diagnostic tests to develop accurate diagnoses. Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and scheduling follow-up care. Actively participate in hospital initiatives to improve patient care. Conduct preventive health screenings and maintain accurate, concise records of patient care.
2. Education and Training: Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment options, and follow-up care. Collaborate with clinicians, staff, and students to promote continuity and patient-centered care. Develop educational materials and provide instruction to physicians, house staff, nursing, and students.
3. Leadership and Professionalism: Provide instruction and guidance to physicians, house staff, nursing, and students. Participate in community outreach programs and develop/lead community outreach initiatives. Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with patients, families, and colleagues. Respond promptly to customer needs and resolve problems.
4. Quality and Research: Engage in daily quality improvement activities, identifying and implementing processes to improve patient care. Consult with management on clinical and system issues. Lead interdisciplinary teams to provide integrated patient care services. Develop new clinical programs or services to improve patient care.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program
- Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in the state of North Carolina. Board certification if required by the Department. DEA.
- No prior experience required

- Demonstrated clinical competency. Effective leadership skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Demonstrated written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills.
