Job Summary

UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide high-quality, cost-effective care to patients within your scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain relevant health and medical history, perform thorough physical assessments, and review and interpret pertinent diagnostic tests/results.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing and ordering evidence-based pharmacological agents consistent with departmental guidelines and privileging.
  • Conduct preventive health screenings, maintain clear and comprehensive patient records, and stay up-to-date with general disease and pathologic processes.
  • Lead and participate in projects to improve productivity, provide education and instruction to physicians, housestaff, nursing, and students, and collaborate with clinicians and staff to promote continuity and patient-centered care.
  • Interact with patients and families in a respectful, courteous, and timely fashion, and respond quickly to meet customer needs and resolve problems.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife) in the state of North Carolina.
  • Board certification if required by the Department, and DEA licensure.
