Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fluid Systems Production Engineer III to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and manufacturing of fluid systems for our upper stage launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement design improvements to increase production rate and reduce costs
  • Drive design for manufacturability and update assembly and test procedures for flight hardware
  • Design, route, and optimize complex fluid subsystems, including pressurization, pneumatics, propellant utilization, and cryogenic systems
  • Work with fluid components, such as solenoid valves, pneumatic valves, regulators, pressure vessels, and instrumentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration and testing of fluid systems
Requirements
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering
  • 5+ years of professional engineering experience with complex fluid systems
  • Demonstrated experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle fluid system component design or test or manufacturing
  • Practical understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
  • Solid understanding of fluid components, fabrication, integration processes, and quality control
  • Working knowledge of materials and treatments
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hydrazine and/or cryogenic helium, hydrogen, and oxygen systems
  • Solid understanding of cryogenic material properties and testing
  • Experience with component and system testing, troubleshooting, and data acquisition systems
  • Project management skills, including supplier management, scheduling, and budget tracking
