Position Summary:
The Medical Equipment Service Specialist is a field-oriented role focused on delivering exceptional customer support through the maintenance and repair of medical electronic devices. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills, as services are rendered both on-site and remotely to healthcare facilities.

Ideal Candidate:
We seek a detail-oriented individual with a passion for device repair, particularly with small components. The successful candidate will exhibit professionalism, possess excellent time management abilities, and demonstrate sound judgment in planning service routes. This role is well-suited for those with experience in technical support, medical device maintenance, or electronics repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize patient safety and product quality by adhering to established quality policies and procedures.
  • Assess customer needs and provide accurate technical information in a clear and positive manner.
  • Conduct on-site repairs and maintenance of medical equipment.
  • Oversee the installation and quality checks of new systems and components to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform both preventative and corrective maintenance; troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues; disassemble and reassemble devices for testing and repair.
  • Carry out routine inspections and adjustments to ensure devices function within specified standards.
  • Implement equipment upgrades as necessary.
  • Provide training and support to medical staff on equipment usage.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including service reports and installation records, to ensure accurate tracking of field activities.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to perform specific tasks with guidance and support.
  • Willingness to comply with training protocols and quality audits.
  • Proficient in using testing equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Knowledgeable in maintenance planning and able to interpret technical specifications.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in technology use, including MS Office and mobile devices.

Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • One to two years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Experience with CRM and OEM software is a plus.
  • Background in electronics troubleshooting and repair is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Good close-up vision and manual dexterity for handling small components.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Physical capability to lift equipment and tools weighing up to 65 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites as required.
