As a Business Process Reengineering Consultant, you will play a critical role in assisting the Department of Justice with a multi-phased project to review sex registration business processes, conduct business process re-engineering, review existing California Sex and Arson Registry (CSAR) application technology architecture and design, and develop a detailed technical assessment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the review and analysis of sex registration business processes to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for process re-engineering.
- Work with the Technical Lead/Architect to design and develop a detailed technical assessment of the existing CSAR application technology architecture and design.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that the Violent Crime Information Center (VCIC) sex registration and notification business processes and existing technology architecture and design continue to be well-aligned with supporting stakeholders.
- Develop and implement business process re-engineering solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of sex registration business processes.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team on business process re-engineering methodologies and tools.
- Professional certification in business process re-engineering or related methodologies and tools such as the Certified Business Process Leader (CBPL) certification offered by the Association of Business Process Management Professionals (ABPMP International) or equivalent certifications such as CBAP or PMI-BPA.
- Knowledge of various business process re-engineering techniques and approaches, such as process mapping, process simulation, process automation, or process optimization.
- Ability to measure and evaluate the outcome and impacts of software development and business process re-engineering projects, using appropriate metrics, methods, and tools.
- At least five (5) years of experience within the past seven (7) years in business process re-engineering, business process analysis, business process design, or business process improvement, preferably in a software-related context.
- At least five (5) years of experience within the past seven (7) years in software development, or software project management, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
- Ability to communicate, and present complex technical and business information to managers, clients, or staff verbally and in writing.
- Preferred to have previous California Justice Information Services experience or other state agencies.
- Preferred to have at least five (5) years within the last seven (7) years using a documentation repository tool (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint).
- Preferred to have an additional 3-years experience in business process reengineering which will be a total of a minimum 8+years experience performing in a business process reengineering capacity for large-scale IT software related projects.
- 16-month contract with the possibility of extension.
- Remote work with occasional onsite visits as directed by the client.
- Hybrid model W2 hourly rate DOE.
