Correctional Health Services Medical Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Associate to join our team at New York City Health + Hospitals Correctional Health Services. As a Patient Care Associate, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in a correctional setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patients with care and support under the direction of a licensed nurse or other medical staff
- Perform venipuncture, finger-sticks, HIV Pre and Post Test Counseling, Rapid HIV Testing, and respond to emergencies
- Facilitate telehealth encounters and perform various clerical and health-related duties
- Assist with patient admissions and transfers, and measure and record patients' vital signs
- Perform EKGs, dry sterile dressing changes, and assist with other patient care tasks under supervision
- Chaperone staff in clinical areas when requested and respond to medical emergencies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
