Electro Optical Satellite Payload Engineer

Job Summary
SAIC is seeking an experienced Electro-optical (EO) Satellite Payload Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to the NRO Commercial System Program Office (CSPO). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electro-optical satellite systems and will be able to offer technical and programmatic expertise on a wide range of satellite capabilities and operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the CSPO in managing commercial overhead data acquisition for the NRO.
- Provide specialized insight in evaluating commercial satellite providers' electro-optical space systems.
- Assist in coordinating commercial electro-optical provider's involvement in various USG activities.
- Utilize optical payload engineering knowledge to facilitate acquisition milestones and reviews.
- Participate in Government source selections and evaluate commercial satellite provider proposals.
- Work closely with Government customer leads and other experts in a team setting.
Key Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering, Physics, or related field with significant experience in electro-optical satellite programs.
- Familiarity with electro-optical system functionality, performance, and product data structures.
- Experience in assessing and developing electro-optical image products and collection modes.
- Strong expertise in writing and evaluating requirements for electro-optical satellite acquisition.
- Ability to contribute to modeling and simulation campaigns.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Desired Qualifications:
- Extended experience in electro-optical satellite programs and first principles.
- Specialized knowledge in electro-optical image product types and quality assessment.
- Additional experience in assessing development contractor performance.
