Job Description

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Launch System Integrator to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to the NRO Electro-Optical System Program Office (ESPO). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in space/launch operations and be able to work autonomously with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain launch vehicle interface requirements and verification plans
  • Collaborate with the satellite developer, launch provider, and launch base to ensure SPO equities are represented
  • Evaluate launch-related CDRLs and provide feedback to the government customer
  • Participate in technical meetings and working groups to ensure launch readiness
  • Represent the government customer for all launch-related issues
  • Provide on-site launch base support during satellite arrival and launch
  • Support the Flight Director during Launch & Initialization (L&I) activities
  • Evaluate new entrant launch vehicles for applicability to the SPO mission
  • Travel to prime contractor, launch base, and launch provider facilities as required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
  • 9 years of experience in space-related systems, including operations, acquisition, program management, integration, test, and evaluation
  • Familiarity with new entrant launch vehicles from ULA, SpaceX, Blue Origin, and others
  • Understanding of launch vehicle performance to varied orbits and ability to provide rapid response to leadership
  • Familiarity with launch facility capabilities and limitations on both coasts
  • Familiarity with payload fairing environments and payload processing facility capabilities
  • Understanding of payload transportation requirements and current USG capabilities
  • Understanding of launch environments, including coupled loads analysis and inertial loads
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% during the year of launch
