Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Informatics Consultant to join our team at Blue Shield of California. As a key member of our Commercial Markets Analytics team, you will be responsible for providing financial reporting and utilization/clinical analytics to Commercial employers and their Brokers/Consultants.

In this role, you will work closely with our Data & Analytics Teams and Business Teams to provide solutions and recommendations to improve member health outcomes and lower healthcare costs. You will conduct independent analysis of high complexity, develop analytical methods, and produce analysis under the guidance of our Medical Informatics Analyst V, supervisor, or manager.

You will also be responsible for developing documentation, creating and executing workplans for analyses of high complexity, and providing training and mentoring for team members on best practices for analysis and reporting.

Requirements:

  • MPH, MBA, MS, MA, RN, or RHIA in health science, quantitative social science, public health, health services research, or business
  • SAS Certified Base Programmer Credential or equivalent
  • At least 7 years of prior relevant experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in Healthcare (managed care, academic, or gov't payer)

Preferred qualifications include expert knowledge of MS Office, VBA, SQL/PL-SQL, SAS, and Tableau, as well as the ability to learn new skills quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
