Job Summary

The Private Client Specialist will serve as a high-touch point of client contact, accountable for serving the unique and complex needs of high net worth clients. This role will require expertise in banking and lending, as well as the ability to partner with relationship managers, investment advisors, and trust advisors to provide proactive client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Service: Provide legendary service to clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Client Onboarding: Ensure all new clients receive a comprehensive onboarding experience, including thorough client discovery, introduction to investment and trust advisors, and completion of client profiling documents.
  • Technical Skills: Develop technical skills and advance to a more senior role within TD Wealth.
  • Financial Transactions: Handle complex financial transactions, including products and services that are highly competitive.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Act as a subject matter expert to client associate teams.
  • Client Planning: Provide high net worth clients with a private client planning experience, where applicable.
  • Client Profitability: Assist in maximizing client profitability for all customers and ensuring the minimum required threshold is met or exceeded.
  • Pricing Models: Develop and maintain an understanding of pricing models and concepts, applying them effectively.
  • Business Opportunities: Identify business opportunities amongst existing customers and support the private banking team in this effort.
  • Portfolio Management: Monitor and control client portfolios, providing feedback to the team on any accounts that are outside guidelines and/or assigned limits and conditions.
  • Client Relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for TD Wealth client relationships, managing all aspects of client relationships with TD Bank.
  • Service Model: Execute a differentiated service model or experience for high net worth clients.
  • Wallet Share: Deepen wallet share by anticipating client needs and suggesting the most appropriate banking, lending, and/or investment solutions.
  • Profitability: Maximize profitability while ensuring the client receives an exceptional client experience.
  • Interdisciplinary Expertise: Leverage and coordinate specialists (trust and estate) to provide interdisciplinary expertise for complex clients.
  • Referrals: Identify opportunities within your portfolio and network to refer business to retail, commercial, and wealth partners.
  • Compliance: Execute in a manner that is compliant with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Continuing Education: Ensure all continuing education requirements are attained.
  • AML/ATF: Responsible for understanding and adhering to TD Wealth AML/ATF policies and procedures.
  • CIP: Responsible for implementing TD's Customer Identification Program (CIP) by collecting and verifying required customer identification information, and performing other customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence requirements.
  • Client Transitions: Transition lower threshold clients to appropriate wealth partners, as needed, to ensure capacity for target market clients.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to a positive and constructive work environment with a focus on supporting the overall wealth team.
  • Professional Development: Contribute individually and as a team member to ensure strong performance, collaboration, and enthusiasm that sets TD Wealth apart from competitors.
  • Community Involvement: Represent TD Wealth to the general public in a professional manner and be involved in community initiatives.
  • Service Standards: Ensure service to external clients and/or internal clients reflects TD Wealth standards and guiding principles.
  • Communication: Through proactive communication, support assigned team members in meeting service commitments to clients.
  • Administrative Support: Provide consistent and accurate administrative support to assigned team members, including filing, report generation, presentation material, written proposals, and spreadsheet reporting.
  • Client Relationships: May act as a secondary contact for client relationships with regards to account maintenance, portfolio information, and cash transfers.
  • Enquiries/Requests: Efficiently manage and promptly respond to all incoming enquiries/requests for information independently or direct to the appropriate person or area.
  • Operational Excellence: Deliver operational excellence.
  • Training: Complete all applicable specialized training.
  • Independence: Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Account Administration: Perform necessary duties to assist assigned team members with all aspects of account administration, retention, specialized services, and other responsibilities in accordance with wealth management area of specialization.
  • Data Management: Maintain various databases and computer systems by entering transactional and other data, updating information as necessary, and ensuring data accuracy; create reports summarizing information as required.
  • Information Flow: Coordinate information flow among internal departments, clients, and others as necessary, communicating procedural and administrative information; forward and obtain required documents and information as required.
  • Client Issues: May resolve more difficult client issues, problems, and requests.
  • Specialist Resource: Guide and direct others as necessary; act as a specialist resource to support all wealth management areas.
  • Team Communication: Keep others on the team informed about the status of account administration, retention, and projects.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete assigned administrative/client service tasks within policy and operating procedures.
  • Referrals: Identify opportunities to make referrals to internal business partners.
  • Process Improvements: Identify and recommend technological/process improvements which may improve overall productivity and client satisfaction.
