As a Production Supervisor at Butterball, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our food processing facility. This position requires a strong leader who can motivate and guide a team to meet production standards while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise production team members, providing guidance, training, and feedback to optimize performance.
- Serve as a role model and ensure team understanding and compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Accountable for team adherence to manufacturing protocols, product specifications, quality guidelines, and safety standards.
- Ensure effective use of labor, tools, supplies, and equipment to maximize efficiency and capacity.
- Conduct routine scanning of the department to identify and solve problems or escalate as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic/paper-based records of production data.
- Update appropriate parties with downtime or other issues as they arise.
- Conduct routine safety and quality audits as required.
- Participate in investigations (e.g., accidents, employee complaints, etc.).
- Actively participate in department/facility meetings.
- Must be hands-on with the onboarding process with new hires.
- Ability to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly skilled at motivating employees to accomplish objectives.
- Knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, SOP, SSOP, and requirements; or ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
- Familiar with operations metrics, such as yields, lbs./birds per man hours (PMH), line speeds, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills at both the strategic and functional level.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic math skills (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Poultry, Animal, or Food Science or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years' experience in a leadership role strongly preferred.
- Experience in poultry/meat food manufacturing helpful.
