About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Manager to join our stormwater team at Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for guiding technical excellence, project management, and training while contributing to the success of our stormwater initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive drainage evaluations and stormwater management studies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the preparation of construction plans for flood risk reduction and channel improvement projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Utilize advanced engineering software and tools for design and documentation, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Open Roads.
  • Visit construction sites to monitor progress, perform contract duties, and ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight, ensuring the delivery of high-quality stormwater design and production.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, track progress, and manage milestones effectively to meet client expectations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope and devise contingency plans to mitigate risks.
  • Define project success criteria and communicate them clearly to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management, driving continuous improvement.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects and clients, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet deadlines.
  • Identify and manage clients to grow the business, establishing and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Attend client meetings and assist with marketing efforts to promote the company's services.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, office staff, and clients, fostering trust and unity within the project team.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Open Roads, Stormwater Modeling, and GIS.
  • Proven experience in stormwater management and infrastructure projects, with a strong understanding of stormwater design principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and permitting processes, including TxDOT drainage and City drainage criteria.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Municipal stormwater experience in Texas, with familiarity with TxDOT drainage preferred.
  • Experience working independently and in a collaborative team environment, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with drainage systems, floodplain management, and ArcGIS, hydrologic modeling (e.g., HEC-HMS), and hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-RAS, Infoworks ICM).
