Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Golf Course Superintendent Assistant to join our team at Tyler Bloom Consulting. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the technical aspects of golf course maintenance, including chemical and fertilizer applications, water management, and cultural practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of daily course maintenance activities, including mowing, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and weed management.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to the maintenance staff, including training, scheduling, and task assignment.
  • Assist in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the course's irrigation system.
  • Assist in preparing the golf course for tournaments, events, and daily play.
  • Perform routine safety inspections on all spraying and fertilizer equipment.
  • Read and understand material safety data sheets (MSDS) and maintain chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the safety and direction of chemical/fertilizer handlers and/or helpers.
  • Maintain a log of applications and files related reports.
  • Responsible for hand spraying and maintaining proper mixing amounts and application techniques.
  • Keep up-to-date on knowledge of chemicals/fertilizers that are being applied.
  • Ensure proper calibration of all spraying/fertilizing equipment.
  • Supervise and assist maintenance staff in daily duties.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed, including compliance with government regulations.
  • Ensure associates obtain proper licenses needed to perform job tasks safely and within city, state, and federal regulations.
  • Address directly all real or perceived environmental concerns.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree, or equivalent from a 2-or-4-year college in agronomy, plant or turfgrass science is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of golf course, landscape, turf-related experience.
  • Have or be able to obtain a DE Pesticide Applicators License within 60 days of hire.
  • Experience in a private club setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
