Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team at Perdue Foods. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, adjusting, performing preventative maintenance, and installing electrical equipment within and around our facilities to ensure seamless production operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all equipment repairs and daily work in accordance with OSHA regulations, lockout/tag-out, and Perdue safety guidelines.
  • Attend CPR and First Aid training.
  • Coordinate with contractors on necessary repairs and projects.
  • Knowledge of general National Electrical Code (NFPA 70, 70E, 70B, & 79).
  • Be proficient in repairing, installing, and maintaining control circuits and motors, including three-phase: 480/277 VAC, 240/120 VAC, and 208/120 VAC, and single-phase volts: 120 volts.
  • Communicate daily issues, fixes, needed repairs, emergency repairs, and scheduled repairs to all other Electricians.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of electrical experience.
  • Must possess knowledge of electrical motors and controls.
  • Reading, writing, math, and analytical skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as an Industrial Electrician.
  • Two-year technical college preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, IP addressing, Computer Networking, Micro-controller proprietary software, etc.
  • PLC and general wiring methods.
  • Industrial automation controls.
Work Environment
  • Work in stationary positions or moving for 12 hours on wet, moist, dry, and greasy surfaces, like floors, metal, or plastic grading surfaces and catwalks.
  • Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping vary in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, height, and longest interval of times.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, up onto equipment, and catwalks.
  • Must be able to lift and control weights up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to handle temperatures from 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to wear required safety equipment, including self-containing breathing apparatus.
  • Must wear FR-rated clothing as required.
  • Exposed to airborne dust, chemicals such as hexane, caustic soda, butanol, ethanol, aluminum chloride.
  • Must have the ability to move through the facility and carry required equipment, tools, which could weigh as much as 50lbs.
  • Responsible to move throughout the facility, reach vertical heights of up to 65' to perform repairs, PM's, and monitor equipment in both open and confined spaces.
  • Willing and able to work around dust, feathers, animals, and various cleaning chemicals.
