Job Title: Waste Water Operator A

Perdue Farms, a family-owned company, is seeking a skilled Waste Water Operator A to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, adjusting, performing preventive maintenance, and installing equipment within and around our wastewater treatment plant facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a safe working environment by eliminating any unsafe or hazardous conditions
  • Perform machine checks at the beginning of every shift to ensure all equipment is running properly and ready for production
  • Check all safety devices on all equipment before running it
  • Turn in downtime and machine check lists at the end of your shift
  • Make routine checks on equipment throughout the shift to ensure it is operating at peak performance
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in electrical wiring, pipe fitting/plumbing, and running waste water treatment equipment to peak performance
  • Knowledge of automatic equipment operation, waste water treatment paperwork, and testing
  • State of DE WWT operator license
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Vocational/Technical school completion or equivalent training
  • Four or more years of practical experience
Work Environment:

May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies, and equipment. Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food, and processing plants.

Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Must be able to lift cases up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb platforms as needed to conduct verification activities.
