Safety Inspector

The Safety Verifier role at Perdue Farms is a critical position that ensures compliance with all applicable safety-related rules, policies, and ergonomics plans. This 2nd Shift position requires a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect all areas of the plant daily to identify and report unsafe acts and conditions.
- Evaluate the ramp-in and ergonomic program for accuracy and provide training to associates as needed.
- Support corporate safety audits and BRC audits annually.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years.
- Experience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred.
Work Environment
- Ability to work for 8 hours or more in a stationary position or travel on wet, moist, dry, greasy floors.
- Exposure to temperatures of less than -40 degrees and 75 degrees with ambient humidity.
- Ability to work from various types of ladders and/or stairs.
Physical Demands
- Bending, twisting, lifting up to 50 lbs, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, heights, longest interval of time, objects grasped, and body positions depending upon the maintenance task required.
- Exposure to chlorinated water (50 ppm), ammonia vapors (5 ppm), dry ice, caustic detergents, lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, and other chemicals found in a poultry processing plant.
