Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Prison Program Coordinator. This role will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our prison outreach program, ensuring the effective delivery of services to inmates and correctional facility staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of inmate correspondence, donations, and program activities.
  • Coordinate and supervise volunteer efforts, matching skills with program needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Outreach Services Manager to prioritize and achieve organizational, budgetary, and departmental goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the prison outreach program, including training and mentoring volunteers.
  • Provide regular updates to the Outreach Services Manager on program operations, contributions, and donor requests.
  • Prepare monthly reports and letters for donors as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with business training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum two years' customer service and data entry experience required.
  • Minimum two years' office experience working with Microsoft Office products and Internet Explorer applications required.
  • Knowledge of philosophy of the key principles in the Edgar Cayce readings, particularly kindness, active patience, and a service orientation.
  • Good working knowledge of A.R.E. resources and available services.
  • Strong interpersonal/customer service skills, including continuous demonstration of courtesy, friendliness, patience, kindness, cooperation with a service orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and listening skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with diverse populations.
Working Conditions

The Prison Program Coordinator will work in a fast-paced office environment, with frequent interactions with inmates, correctional facility staff, and volunteers. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to the mission and values of the Association for Research and Enlightenment Inc. and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
