About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Technician to join our team in Cambridge, MA. As a member of our Flavell Lab, you will participate in cutting-edge computational analysis and modeling of population neural activity in freely-behaving animals. Your expertise in deep learning approaches and data processing will contribute to a deeper understanding of brain function and behavior.
Job Responsibilities
* Process calcium imaging data using software packages with GPU computing and custom-trained neural networks
* Analyze and interpret high-dimensional neural data using systems neuroscience approaches
* Conduct in vivo calcium imaging experiments to understand how neural circuits generate complex behaviors in C. elegans
* Contribute to overall research directions and discoveries through creative and innovative research
* Assist in lab management, organization, equipment maintenance, and maintaining a safe work environment
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, neuroscience, biology, mathematics, or related field
* Proficiency in Python, Julia, Matlab, or R, with excellent debugging skills
* Familiarity with Github for code version control, organizing, and publishing software packages
* Experience with essential data structures and algorithms, parallel/distributed computing
* Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills, demonstrated through coursework or research experience
* Basic familiarity with biology and/or neuroscience through coursework or research experience

Estimated Salary Range
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on education and experience.
